Detail:
Cox Arboretum MetroPark is looking for volunteers to staff the Arboretum's Butterfly House from June 28 through September 1. This popular attraction hosts over 45,000 visitors annually and features native Ohio butterflies and moths set amidst a garden of beautiful host and nectar plants. The Butterfly House will be open Mon.-Sat. from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sun. from noon to 4 p.m. Two volunteer opportunities exist within this area; Volunteer Guides and Volunteer Gardeners. Guides work 2-hour shifts, delivering quality education to the public including butterfly and moth identification, life cycle information and gardening in an ecological way. Gardeners learn and use best horticultural practices to maintain the host and nectar gardens.
