You know who this band sounds like? No one else, ever. Unless you have heard the sound of John Wayne riding face-first into a meat grinder being operated by Beetlejuice. But Look Afraid is the next closet thing. A Rock band based out of Oxford Ohio, they are made up of members of past Ohio bands; The Culling Song, Sofapunch, The Wading Girl, and The Proles. Blending elements of western rock n’ roll with a dancier pop-sensibility, Look Afraid has managed to garner attention quite fast.

They recently won a national competition through a website called Famecast.com, beating hundreds of bands across the country to win $10,000, while getting flown to Austin, TX to play for a panel of industry experts including Spin/Alternative Press/Revolver writer Aaron Burgess. He was quoted by calling the band "a bad-ass rock band that could easily slide into any number of scenes and take over."
The band has headlined shows at reputable clubs across Ohio, as well as venturing across state lines to deliver their insane live act to enthusiastic crowds that grow with each show. Look Afraid prides themselves on playing as many shows as possible and never ceases to win over crowd after crowd with their live performance. They have also built up quite a local following being featured in publications such as Cincinnati’s City Beat, Miami University’s Amusement, The Oxford Press, The Dayton Daily News, and The Sun News.

Look Afraid have also received national attention playing shows with Nightmare of You, River City Rebels, I Object, Powerspace, and collaborating on artwork with world famous rock artist Jeff Gaither who has done work for Van Halen, Guns N' Roses and the Misfits, among others. As the band continues to grow and their reputation as a phenomenal live act expands beyond their home state, Look Afraid is sure to capture the attention of all true rock & roll fans.
